What thread is best for sewing?
Polyester produces strong, durable threads suitable for any type of sewing. Polyester threads do not lose elasticity after washing and are not fading. Polyester yarn produces very little lint and keeps machines clean. All purpose thread in all fabric shops is 100% polyester.
What is sewing thread called?
Filament thread - Shining thread made from stranded polyester, rayon, or nylon. Monofilament Threads - One single nylon filament. Polyesters are highly appreciated. The bonding threads are coated with an enhanced resin that strengthens the thread.
How do I choose a sewing thread?
The trick in selecting a thread is to find the appropriate weight/length, fibres and finished products for each project you're creating. Polyester is generally good for general stitching. However, sometimes you will need to try different types of threads.
What is spun polyester thread used for?
Spun polyester is a smooth and soft fabric with excellent sewability and is suitable for knitted and woven materials. This 100% polyester thread is light, strong and has little lint, making it an ideal choice for sewing and lock machines.
